Formulas used in Our systems

Welcome to our dedicated formula resource page, where you’ll find detailed information on the formulas and calculations driving PhenoVation’s advanced camera systems. These systems are designed specifically for accurate multispectral imaging, photosynthesis imaging, and plant phenotyping, essential for research and development in plant science.

Formulas Photosynthesis Parameters

·        Fv/Fm   =  (Fm - F0) / Fm

·        Fq’/Fm’ =  (Fm’ - Fs’) / Fm’

·        ETR        =  Fq’/Fm’ * Alpha * PSIIratio * Actinic (PSIIratio = 0.5)

·        NPQ      =  (Fm - Fm’) / Fm’

·        F0’         =  F0 / (Fv/Fm + F0/Fm’)

·        qP          =  (Fm’- Fs’) / (Fm’- F0’)

·        qL          =  qP * F0’ / Fs’

·        qN         =  1 – (Fm’- F0’) / (Fm – F0)

·        qE          =  Fm * (Fm’’ - Fm’) / (Fm’’ * Fm’)

·        qI           =  (Fm - Fm’’) / Fm’’

·        ɸNO      =  1 / (NPQ + 1 + qL * Fm/F0)

·        ɸNPQ   =  1 - Fq’ / Fm’ - ɸNO

·        NPQ(t)  =  4.88 / (Fm’/F0’ – 1) – 1

·        RFd        =  (FmRFd - FtRFd) / FtRFd

PlantExplorer PRO+ uses 730nm bandpass

PlantExplorer MAX+ uses 730nm bandpass

Formulas used for Spectral measurements

·        Alpha    =  1 - Rred/Rfarred

·        ChlIdx   =  (1/Rrededge - 1/Rnir) * Rnir

·        AnthIdx =  (1/Ranth - 1/Rrededge) * Rnir

·        NDVI = (Rnir- Rred)/(Rnir+Rred)

Filters used for Multispectral measurements

Rred = 640nm

RFarred = 732nm

Ranth filter = 512nm

Rrededge  filter = 710nm

Red = 640nm

Nir = 769nm

Formulas used for  Color Parameters

·        Normalise R,G,B values in a number between 0.0 and 1.0

·        Max and Min are the minimal and maximal of the (R, G, B) values

·        (H, S, V) are defined as:

·        If (R = Max)          H = (G - B) / (Max – Min) * 60

·        If (G = Max)         H = 2 + (B - R) / (Max – Min) * 60

·        If (B = Max)          H = 4 + (R - G) / (Max – Min) * 60

·        S = (Max - Min) / Max

·        V = Max
